Our Vision is to build a new Community Centre to replace the present St Mark’s Hall. The new building will be a modern, multi-function Hall, available for all local community activitues, including Church worship.
Why we need a new building?
St Mark’s Hall is a dual-use, pre-fabricated building, erected in 1956. Like many pre-fabricated buildings of the post war period, it was not expected to have a lifetime of more than 25 to 30 years.
History of the Project
This project began in 2012 with a feasibility study to identify user group requirements, experience from other local community centres, likely building costs and possible sources of finance. An interim report was presented to the Annual Parish Meeting in May 2013 and a Final Report was published in September 2013.
